The opening heat is likely to set the standard with the Paul Hili-trained Tynan and the Russell Watts prepared chaser Relevance both with their sights on a winning hat-trick.

The Lynden Nichols trained Onassis looks to have a stranglehold on heat two after running a close second to kennelmate Miss Hanigan in Hobart on Thursday. Onassis has won two from seven in Devonport including a sizzling 25.62 performance five weeks ago.

Heat three looks a three-way battle with the David Crosswell owned and trained Fernando Magic drawing box one for its first up assignment from a three month spell. Miss Hanigan looked sharp in winning in Hobart on Thursday and has two wins to her credit from four runs in Devonport including a blistering 25.67 second effort in March.

Richard Stamford's Buster Emery just edges out Miss Hanigan having won in 25.65 seconds and two from three on the track. Prancing Black and Rusty The Jett look the top hopes in heat four with Prince Fabio and Gold Lenny locking horns in heat five, while Fernando Gold, Bobby The Jett and Willie Mac will be in heat six.
